Welcome to Pink Ribbon Caregiver!
Finally, a website designed especially for the caregivers of breast cancer patients!
Your loved one has been diagnosed with “The C Word”. The word ‘CANCER’ ignites fear and terror in those who have been diagnosed and in their friends and family.
As a caregiver, you are faced with helping to meet the emotional as well as physical needs of the patient – your loved one.
But, how can you best care for and help meet those needs which have been thrust upon you?
This website is in honor and memory of my mother, Joyce Ann Heiliger Warner
The answer may surprise you. It may make you feel selfish. But, here it is……
YOU HAVE TO TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF FIRST!!!
It is just like being on an airplane that is experiencing turbulence or difficulty. You have to get oxygen for yourself before aiding someone else. If you don’t take good care of yourself you will be unable to maximally care for someone else.
Here at Pink Ribbon Caregiver, we will interact and share our tips and helpful ideas on how to best care for yourself and your breast cancer patient. We all need a good support system.
Through our blog and newsletters we will help you set and determine priorities, give you tips on time management, help you identify your patient’s emotional and physical needs, and help you determine how you and your buddy system can meet all those needs.
Pink Ribbon Caregiver can be your place to laugh, cry, ponder and share. We are here for you, the Pink Ribbon PT (Personal Trainer)! Stay connected to learn more about becoming a Pink Ribbon PT!
Of course, along with the caring and sharing, we have special breast cancer awareness products to purchase. Some items are geared toward the breast cancer patient in general and others are geared toward the breast cancer patient’s caregiver. A portion of the proceeds will go to Susan G. Komen for the Cure, Susan G. Komen for the Cure – Wabash Valley Affiliate, and the American Cancer Society. Your purchase of this pink ribbon merchandise will aid many others in their fight against breast cancer!
